"BUHARI'S HANDS: MOSES'S HANDS.
I'm stopping my Buhari criticism today.
I've been going on for some time about how he has not appointed a cabinet thereby carrying on like a Sole Administrator.

I think we all need to help this man - to strengthen his hands as it were.
Of recent, news has been in town about his anti-corruption moves. Just yesterday he announced that he now knows the banks keeping looted money from
Nigeria.

And high profile 'visitors' have been 'visiting' EFCC of late. I mean people like Murtala Nyarko, Sule Lamido, Toyin Saraki, Dr Paul Orhii of NAFDAC (Dora
Akunyili must be turning in her grave) etc.

It is not as if looters will willingly cough up their loots. They'll resist and repel.
They'll fight back. I heard Mrs Turai
Yar'Adua scampered to OBJ at Ota (or was it Abekuta?) In order that her daughter might not be arrested.

I recollect two incidences that occured while I was Speaker of OYHA. A petition came to me about a former Head of one of the State-owned tertiary institutions then.
The petitioner alleged that he stole
the institution blind while he was there. I quickly charged the paper to the House Committee on Education.

A few days later, a powerful delegation of our party leaders and 'big men' from the man's hometown descended on my office, with the leaders saying he contributed to our election, so we must not disgrace him etc.
Then secondly, another petition
came about Sumal Foods on Ring Road, Ibadan.
It was to the effect that the company was engaged in casualisation which was a breach of National and International Labour Laws.
We summoned the MD and the entire management of the company to the
House. On the eve of the meeting, at about 12 midnite, one big man called me and said: "Speaker, pls spare Sumal, the owner has contributed a lot to Ibadan'.
Again, case closed. So I began to wonder what pressure Buhari is under now to jettison his anticorruption stand.
Please don't tell me Buhari is strong enough to resist them. For I know the extent that such characters can go. Only yesterday, Obasanjo spoke in an interview about how he was frustrated in bringing our refineries back to life.

It is therefore expedient that we pray for our president and be not quiet as we lend our voices in support of the moves he is making. In the Bible, Moses had to go up the mountain to hold up his rod in his hands as Israel fought their enemies below in the valley.
As long as his hands were raised, Israel prevailed but when his arms dropped, Israel faltered so they chose two men to stand by him to hold up his hands anytime he was tiring.
Fellow Nigerians, let us hold Buhari's hands in prayer and effective noisemaking as he charges at the odious and despicable thieves of our common patrimony.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Omi Tuntun, Igba Otun!"
