"Akintunde Ayeni - Yem-Kem International In Prison?
He started the bitters craze. Naturally the discussion about bitters with some NAFDAQ people yielded the news. "Yem-Kem is in jail for drug running!" Which jail? "Naija now!". How did they killed the news successfully? "Some big men intervened!". When I googled him, there was no reference to his being caught and he's gone out of circulation for the last two years. His business has crumbled! Naija! Why are we like this?
Akintunde Ayeni built his herbal empire on fraud. He milked his clients taking advantage of their gullibility. Herbs does work but he was not compounding herbs, he compounded lies! Nothing worked in his line of products. During my struggle with infertility, a friend took me to one of his offices. His consultation was a sham. He had superficial knowledge of the female anatomy.
The visit was at a time when my friends had the impression I was my own problem because I was already a sceptic after a decade of childlessness. After a decade of ridiculous rituals, baths in the wilderness supervised by male pastors who gawked at me among other ludicrous stuff. I had to given in at times just to be at peace. On a visit to Nigeria, my friend paid N28,000:00 for his capsules!
I took five capsules and my curiosity made me open one. The content was black as charcoal and a fine powder it was. Of course, I trashed it. He invented creative names like wiper, washer or something close. Using psychology, Yem-Kem pitched his tenth in the most populous part of Lagos among a demographic that can easily buy his crap.
None of Nigeria's big men can live honestly. If they are not in the drug trade, they will deal in arms, engage in fraud or become a politician. May he rot in jail!"
