"Journalism is in crisis in Nigeria and needs divine intervention. Here is the Guardian, a paper that prides itself as the flagship of Nigerian journalism, feeding the public with lie that the photo on its cover in today's edition is that of Mubi and was even taken 'yesterday.'

This is a picture that has been on the internet for a while. I learnt it was taken during the crisis in Congo in 2013.

What happens to the maxim in journalism: when in doubt, leave out? It's sad enough that some people who knew the source of the photograph even had raised the alarm before now and warned people not to fall for it."
